Knight Enterprises To Partner with Earth to Sky Pictures for TV Movie on the Life of Sir Samuel Steele

Ottawa, Canada (November 23, 2009) - Knight Enterprises announced today that they will be partnering with Calgary-based producer Nancy Laing, President, Earth to Sky Pictures, on the recently announced television movie based on the life and adventures of one of Canada’s most revered and decorated Mounties, Sir Samuel Benfield Steele.

“We are delighted to partner with someone of Nancy’s talent and reputation to bring this important Canadian's story to the screen," said Chris Knight, President, Knight Enterprises.

“I am thrilled to be working on a project of this nature and scope, to be shot in Alberta,” said Nancy Laing. “Sam Steele lived an exciting life that spans decades and continents. He's a hero, a renegade, and is integral to the story of Alberta. I'm excited to be working with Knight in bringing this larger than life man to the screen. Let the adventure begin!"

Nancy Laing is an award winning film and television producer with over 16 years in the industry and a diverse portfolio of production experience including movies such as “The Secret of the Nutcracker”, “Chicks with Sticks”, and “Jet Boy".

The Sam Steele project is being produced with key participation from the CBC and The Alberta Department of Culture and Community Spirit.

Earth to Sky Pictures provides development, producing, and co-production services, with proven expertise in film and television business affairs.

Knight Enterprises, CBC Television and Government of Alberta Announce TV Movie Project on the
Life of Sir Sam Steele


Calgary, Canada,  ( November 12, 2009) 
- Knight Enterprises, CBC Television English Services and the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Culture and Community Spirit announced today a television movie screenplay in development based on the life and adventures of one of Canada’s most revered and decorated Mounties, Sir Samuel Benfield Steele.  The project includes a full multi platform content component for web and mobile.

"Sam Steele is an iconic figure in our history whose real life adventures rival that of an Indiana Jones,” said Chris Knight, President Knight Enterprises.  “Knight Enterprises is proud to be bringing this great Canadian's story to the screen, thanks to the key support of Alberta Culture and Community Spirit and the CBC."

In 2008, the Alberta government took part in a ceremony in Trafalgar Square in London England, which saw the acquisition and repatriation of the Sir Samuel Benfield Steele Collection, an important piece of Alberta’s history.  The collection is now housed at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary and the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

“The letters, artifacts and papers from the Sir Sam Steele Collection document a significant time of change and development in western Canadian history,” said Lindsay Blackett, Minister of Culture and Community Spirit. “With this television production, we as Albertans and Canadians have the opportunity to tell the stories of our past and celebrate our heritage.”

“From the Red River Expedition to the Boer War, Sir Sam Steele has been at the forefront of several monumental events around the world,” said Kirstine Stewart, General Manager of CBC Television English Services. “As Canada’s national public broadcaster, we are pleased to be involved in the development of this project and others like it that help to tell the stories of the people and events that have shaped our country today.”

KNIGHT ENTERPRISES licenses popular furniture reno series Junk Brothers to Kuwait TV

Ottawa, Ontario- June 4, 2009 - Knight Enterprises announces that all 52 episodes of the popular Junk Brothers will now be available on Kuwait TV, through a broadcast license agreement with Pyramid Entertainment Exports and the Arab Information Centre. Kuwait TV is under direct management of Ministry of Information, supplying news and entertainment to both Arabic and English speaking viewers. Junk Brothers showcases stunning transformations of household items destined for the junkyard.

KNIGHT ENTERPRISES’ popular ROAD GRILL series promotes ZIPLOC® brand for SC JOHNSON in new Commercials airing on Food Network

OTTAWA, Ontario, May 26, 2009 – Knight Enterprises is pleased to announce that SC Johnson has selected the Road Grill brand to help promote the Ziploc® brand product line this BBQ season. Two 30 second commercial spots, written and produced by Knight Enterprises, feature Road Grill host Matt Dunigan promoting the many uses of Ziploc® brand Double Zipper Freezer Bags as an essential tool for summertime barbequing. Draftfcb is SC Johnson’s agency of record for the Ziploc® brand.
