Knight TV Tim McRoberts

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario Tim now resides in beautiful Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island with his wife Kim and Two children, Nicholas and Abbey.

As a graduate of the George Brown College Culinary Management program, Tim apprenticed and worked in many Toronto landmark properties before moving out east and falling in love with the Maritimes. Early on in his career he committed himself to developing his skills in many culinary settings. He made sure to include catering, fine dining, resort and grand hotel experiences into his repertoire so he could be a resourceful and multi-talented chef. Tim realized that he must have many culinary experiences but these experiences must take place in great places with even greater people! Tim believes in order to be successful you must surround yourself with successful people.

Above all, Tim's greatest assets are his dedication to learning and sharing. Tim is currently a chef instructor and project manager at the prestigious Culinary Institute of Canada and works hard to create an environment where all culinarians can get a fantastic start on a rewarding career. He is always ready to offer support in a knowledgeable, passionate, understandable and professional way. Presently, Tim is honing his own academic skills by continuing his education at the University of Prince Edward Island.

Tim is dedicated to marrying great food experiences with learning. Whether he is cooking at a local or national fundraiser, training international chefs, competing or supporting students from around the world, he strives to connect food with the passion of the experience. He loves the moment when a guest or student connects with the energy of great food.

Tim's mantra is that "learning is a life skill and is life long". He is quick to say that food and cooking have given him a great life and the beauty lies in the fact he learns something new everyday. He treasures the rewards of teaching and is grateful that his classroom is the kitchen.
